I was having a good run, upgraded my sidey, was thinking of trading up for an eagle...and then I got a puppy lol! Oddly enough a HOTAS and a puppy in one's lap do not mix. Smile He's only going to be this little for a short time though so I don't mind. Kb/M games for the duration I guess.

You can play it with a kb/m, it's just that almost everyone moves on to a HOTAS after a while for the sake of immersion. Smile You can use a controller as well if you like. I tried a controller- then bought a Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS X. It's cheap and it really does make a massive difference. Smile

@KilrB- He's a hairless Chinese Crested Dog, though he seems to think he is a bald Great Dane lol!

You've summoned a photo by asking...

    Welcome aboard Shinian.

You can play it with keyboard and mouse, but it takes some doing.

I had to play the first two training missions several times each to get anywhere near adequate.

    The rest ... forget it.

I'm on hold until I finish TW2/3 and PoE ... and get a HOTAS.

Shinian, you can play the included training missions offline by launching them from the
    "COMBAT_TUTORIAL_DEMO" folder with "EliteDangerous32.exe".

BTW, my Elite Dangerous disc(s) came in today!

Thanks for the response. I haven't got the game yet but it does appeal to me, despite the controls.

So on a scale of 1 (worse) to 10 (way better) how do the controls compare to the DAI controls we are all here to escape? heh.

    EDIT

After looking at the Hotas, it does seem to make sense to use this type of controller for a game like Elite Dangerous. I may have to check them out at best buy or something
